This past Saturday, I helped my husband with the yard by using the push mover. Doing the yard work with him and other household activities enabled me to get 17,556 steps and 131 Active Minutes for that one day! It felt great!
I'm encouraged to continue to find ways to add in additional steps each day. Parking further away, always taking the stairs, etc.

I have found that having a walking 1 on 1 with team members is a great way to communicate and get a workout. The great outdoors helps clear the brain fog, stimulate ideas, and boost creativity.

Great habit, Jim. Back in 2008/2009, one of my mentees asked me if we could walk for a 1:1. It was an odd concept for me at first, but then it made a ton of sense. If it's a general catch-up and you don't need to review a lot of paper, why not walk? It's tough to do a long walking 1:1 in this heat/humidity, but I look forward to September, both for the return of football season and for the return of great walking weather. Keep up the good work!

The Fitbit challenge has helped me to more than double my steps each day and I have gotten in my 45 minutes each day in July, versus just 5/7 days prior (to max the L4G points). I was averaging 4.5k steps/day the past several months, so I set my goal at 6k steps, a 33% increase (and so I didn't have to reimburse Garrett Riley $50 for my Fitbit! ). I've gotten into the habit of a 45-60 minute early morning walk in recent weeks, which usually gets me close to my 6k step goal and ensures I reach my goal each day. Happy stepping, all!

While battling my Fitbit challenge mates (Liang, David Spivey, Brad, Nancy, Michelle, Tricia, Garrett, Ryan, Suzette, Sharon, Rich, and Susan) motivates me to get in more steps each day, I realize how much further I have yet to go in my fitness.
My sisters recently invited me to their Fitbit challenge group. In my BBC challenge group, I’m currently sitting at 46k steps in 4.5 days, just behind Liang’s pacesetting 50k, so I feel pretty good. I flipped over to my sisters’ Fitbit challenge and got a strong dose of reality, as I’m sitting at the bottom of the scoreboard. 85k and 79k are the top two scores there right now and the average is about 60k. Whew!
I guess it’s not a bad thing to feel both happy with my progress and challenged to do more by my sisters and their friends. I hope that you are similarly encouraged and challenged.
