I have noticed now that I am not eating the sugary sweets with the Lean For Green program, that when I do have something sweet, I fill up on it sooner and crave less because it is almost "too sweet" since I have limited the amount I have.

On the sweets note, it's almost like a budgeting exercise for me (a spending plan versus being restricted on what I can spend). On what day will I choose to spend my "sweets day" versus feeling that I am depriving myself of sweets for six days/week.

I have a medical issue going on and can only eat so many carbs a day, but I cannot store it all up & "spend" my whole carb count in one meal. But what I do now, is not have carbs in my drinks. I am very aware of the carbs I drink!! I yell at my husband, who is addicted to Dr Pepper "Do you know how many carbs are in that?!? 47 grams in 20 oz!!"

My 6 yo daughter is nicely supportive. She has come home a few times with a sweet, but lets me know that I may enjoy it on my next sugar day. She also likes my sugar day because I will typically share a small part of my treat(s) with her.

I am finding that the more I eliminate sweets the less I really want them. It just takes powering through a couple weeks then it gets easier.
